The AvantGo Client displays images in color on devices that have color displays. On grayscale or monochrome devices, the AvantGo Client converts the color images to grayscale. The original color scheme of an image plays an important role in the way the AvantGo Client renders it on grayscale and monochrome devices. The process we employ to convert color images to black and white ones works best on images that have a high contrast ratio between colors and that have crisp edges in the details of the picture.
